7th day: Foamy lemons

What do we get when mixing the acid of a lemon with the soda bicarbonate? Quite an amazing reaction in which lots of bubbles and are formed. In spite of being only two kids present, both of them liked it adn were quite attentive.

In the reaction the citric acid present in the lemon reacts with the bicarbonate due to its basic nature, getting in the precces and acid-base reaction in which CO2 is reales, which is released as foam/bubbles.  The basis of the experiment, indeed, is the same to that of vinegar and sodium bicarbonate. The only thing that we've been changing it's been the type of acid used in the process.

To make it a bit more intense, I decided to add different food coloring in different lemons, so that when it would get reacted, the foam would happen to have a vivid color.
